In 2018, Tim, the co-founder of Next Gen Personal Finance, thought a podcast would be a great way to meet his goal of having every child take a personal finance course before graduating from high school. He decided to fund the pilot season of the podcast Million Bazillion, and went on to contribute matching funds to inspire others to make season two possible.

"I was so excited to work alongside Marketplace, because I knew all I needed to do was write the check and it was going to be an all-star team putting this together.

"I see Next Gen Personal Finance as a distribution vehicle to get all of this great work you are doing into more than 60,000 classrooms across the country. The best compliment I heard from a teacher was, 'The reason I listen to Marketplace is because I know it's non-partisan.' In an era where every media source feels like there's a slant somewhere, teachers love the fact that MPR | APM stays true to that vision.

"It would be easy to fall back on your track record of excellence and say, 'Hey, we've got a method that works.' But the fact is MPR | APM are consistently cranking out new stuff … I love that."
